Introducing...Me

Today is...well, today. And because today is today and because I finally found that which I was looking for (I'm cryptic today, aren't I *grin*), I would like to introduce...me:

Yes, this is me. The photo was taken approximately 6 years ago, in Amsterdam. (Yes, I went to see the tulip fields.) I am notoriously photo shy, so photos of me are few and far between, particularly of late. Saying that, my hair is approximately the same length as it is in the photo, and I am approximately the same weight...just six years older.

Anyway, I thought it was about time you were able to put a face to my name...although if you prefer to go on thinking of me in an amorphous manner, please be my guest *grin*

  1. Hey Orannia, what a cute picture! It's so good to see you! I've never been to Amsterdam but maybe one day :)

How are things in your part of the world?

  4. Thank you Stacy! Amsterdam was amazing BTW - I have a diplomatic friend who was posted there (he took the picture). Fascinating place. Am thinking of drafting some travel posts, if people were interested, as I've been to quite a few places... Hmmm, maybe I could have a poll on which place people would like to read about first?

Renee - thank you :) My friend had very strict instructions to include the tulips, and I had strict instructions to be in at least one photo! There were acres and acres of tulips - it was a gorgeous sight!

  5. As someone who know Orannia in "real life" I'll attest that it really is a photo of her. :) I think maybe her face is a little thinner now and yes, she looks a little bit older and more experienced, but it is definitely her. Lovely photo and the tulips are also gorgeous.

    Good on you for sharing.

Although, I understand you about being photo shy... I'm not really one for pictures, so really, thanks :)

  8. You are beautiful, woman! Yeah, the tulips are gorgeous, but so are you. Thank you for posting this!

And you know what? I would love to hear about your travels, whatever you feel like sharing--it's about what you enjoy, isn't it?

  9. Thank you Kerry. I was slightly tempted to post a photo of Jessica Alba, but I thought someone might notice *grin*

Kris - Hey back sweetie :)

Mariana/Donna - thank you! I know how much I love being able to put a face to a name, so I thought it was about time I stepped up. It just took me simply ages to find that photo...well, OK, a photo with me in it *grin*

Thank you azteclady. Beautiful...hmmm. I don't think so *grin* but thank you. I really like the idea of a travel post. I've been to some fascinating places - Amsterdam, Barcelona, Beijing, Egypt, Greece, Turkey and all over the UK and parts of Ireland. I've even climbed inside a pyramid! Couldn't find a Stargate though :(

  11. Yay! This is my beautiful, awesome best friend - someone I'm incredibly lucky to have known in real life for over a quarter of a century, and both proud and honoured to have been best friends with for almost all of that!

  13. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! You made my day. =)

You are even more adorable than I imagined. I realize that friendship does not require that we know what the other one looks like... but I can't help feeling that *now*... we're complete!

Now we just have to work on seeing each other in person!

  16. Look how cute you are, crouching by the tulips. Now I won't think of you as a leopard on a rock anymore.

  17. Thank you Kristen. I never used to be (camera shy), not until I hit my teenage years anyway :)

CJ - thank you! Maybe I could be both? *grin* I feel braver as a leopard :)

  18. Well hey you - nice to meet you *g*. I can so relate to being photo shy - I am too. I don't think I've put any photos up of me - they've all been put up by others - though I might have put one up of me and Nora Roberts - not sure.
